Art of Sand Sculpture

There is no exact answer to the question when the first sand sculpture appeared. There is a hypothesis that the ancient Egyptians made copies of future pyramids from sand. Unlike real castles, sand sculptures are very short-lived, because the main building ingredients are sand and water.

During the construction of sand sculptures there are some nuances. The fact is that grains of sand will not stick together while the sand is wet. On the other hand, dry sand crumbles. According to the BBC Coast program, the ideal ratio for building sand castles is eight parts of dry sand to one part of water.
