Now, that particular "self-patrol" will go up for auction through RM Sotheby's in Indiana, United States, next May.

The vehicle, according to the auction house's description, has all its original elements, as well as the complete customization that the New Zealand police carried out when they bought the car.

In terms of design, this eye-catching Subaru features a 356cc two-cylinder engine block associated with a four-speed manual transmission. It can only generate 25 horses hence "it is unlikely to catch criminals," said RM Sotheby's.

It is still unknown what amount the auctioneers expect to help out. However, this is not the first time that a police Subaru 360 goes under the hammer: in 2010, a similar deal was already completed. Ten years ago, 16,500 US dollars were paid for the original little car.
